Intertonals

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Intertonale is a music seminar at the interface of new music , popular music and jazz . It takes place annually in Scheibbs , Lower Austria , and sees itself as a successor to the international Scheibbs jazz week. The festival always takes place in July as part of the Lower Austria Quarter Festival.

The predecessor, the Scheibbser Jazz Week, took place annually in Scheibbs for 25 years. After this ended in 2010, a cultural hole arose. The cultural association Proberaum Scheibbs , which a few years earlier had occupied the vacant Capuchin monastery , later a student dormitory, wanted to fill this gap and organized Intertonale # 1 in 2016, which means that a continuation was planned from the start. The cast in 2016 consisted of Lukas Koenig (King Leopold) and Martin Schiske ( Johann Sebastian Bass ). In 2017 Mira Lu Kovacs and Lukas Koenig made guest appearances. In 2018 Leyya and Marino Formentini came. In 2019 there were Alicia Edelweiss, Monobrother and Elektro Guzzi . The special thing about the line-up in 2019 was that a rapper, an Austro-British songwriter, a jazz band and a choir held concerts and workshops together, which, according to project manager Gerald Zagler, gives you the opportunity to "expand your own musical horizons in cooperation with others" .
