Inthasom (also written Inta Som , full throne name Somdet Brhat Chao Raja Indra Parama Pavitra Sri Tatana Udana Chakrapatiraja Chao Anga Raja Sri Sadhana Kanayudha ; * in the 17th century; † 1749 in Luang Phrabang ) was King of the Kingdom of Luang Phrabang from 1723 to 1749 .

Inthasom was the younger son of Prince Indra Brahma (Enta Prohm), Chao Raja Yudha , and his wife Princess Chandra Kumari (Chanta Khuman). He was thus a grandson of Sulinyavongsa , the last great king of Lan Xang and the younger brother of Kingkitsarat . He was trained at home. After learning of the death of his older brother Kingkitsarat in 1713, he marched against his cousin Ong Kham against Luang Phrabang, believing in his higher rights to the throne . Instead of starting a war, the two opponents agreed on a separation of powers, which brought Inthasom the post of viceroy, Maha Uparat .

After ten years of joint government, Inthasom was tired of the subordinate position and had his cousin deposed, who was on a hunting trip for lovebirds . The gates of Luang Phrabang were closed to the old king. As a counterbalance to Burma , ties were established with China , to which Inthasom had tribute assigned. Corresponding missions reached the Middle Kingdom in 1723, 1734 and 1753.

Inthasom was married to Queen ( Maha Devi ) Dhanasavuni (Taen Sao) since 1725 , who had three sons and a daughter with him. She was previously the wife of the deposed King Ong Kham.

Inthasom died in 1749, leaving ten sons and six daughters.
