Kings of Vientiane (1707-1828)
The Kingdom of Vientiane was formed in 1707 due to continued throne disputes and subsequent division of the Kingdom of Lan Xang. It was tribute to Siam , its powerful neighbor to the south.

Kings of Luang Prabang
After Lan Xang was split into three parts, the Luang Phrabang Empire was the weakest of the three new areas. It had to pay tribute to Siam , Burma or Vietnam at different times . After a particularly powerful attack by the northern Chinese Ho , Luang Phrabang submitted to the French colonial power in 1887, which integrated the empire into French Indochina .

Kings of Champasak
Champasak split from Lan Xang in 1700 and was made a principality by the French colonial power in 1904 . When the Kingdom of Laos was formed in 1946 , the existence of the Champasak Empire ended.
