Intronaut is a progressive metal band from Los Angeles , California . The band combines occasional post-metal elements with modern progressive metal structures.

history

After the band was formed in 2003, they released their first demo recording Null . This was followed by a record deal with the Goodfellow Records label, which Zero re-released a year later in the United States . In Germany , Lifeforce Records took care of sales. At the beginning of April they began recording their debut album Void , which was produced with the support of John Haddad. It then appeared in autumn 2006.

In August 2007, singer and guitarist Leon del Muerte left the band because he wanted to concentrate more on his Murder Construct project. He was replaced by Dave Timnick.

In early 2008, the band signed a record deal with Century Media , which released the second album Prehistoricisms . Intronaut also covered the song Dixie Whiskey by the band EyeHateGod for the Century Media 20th Anniversary album.

In April 2009 the band played with Kylesa as opening act for Mastodon .

In early October 2010, the band's third album, Valley of Smoke , was released, followed by a tour with Helmet . The album Habitual Levitations was released in 2013 , followed by The Direction of Last Things in 2015.
