Invasion (medicine)
Invasion (from Latin invadere "to penetrate") stands for medical measures for diagnosis or therapy that penetrate the body.
Natural openings can be used for this, e.g. B. in gastroscopy , colonoscopy or amnioscopy , s. Endoscopy .
As a rule, however, “invasive” means penetration into the body through the skin (or mucous membrane), so that the physical integrity is damaged. This requires the patient's consent , often as a declaration of consent . Exception see compulsory blood draw .
Typical measures of invasive medicine are:
