Invergordon is a whiskey distillery in Invergordon , Highlands , Scotland .

history

The distillery was founded in 1959 by Invergordon Distillers Ltd. founded in Invergordon and serves the production of grain whiskey . The distillery has expanded over the years and a larger number of stills has been purchased. In 1993 the distillery was taken over by Whyte & Mackay , now part of Emperador Inc. It is one of the largest distilleries in the country and the only grain distillery in the Highlands. 1965 was Malt -Brennerei Ben Wyvis on the grounds of Invergordon distillery founded. However, this was torn down again in 1977.

The water needed to make whiskey is taken from Loch Glass. Four coffey stills are available for production. The distillery can produce a maximum of 360,000  hectoliters of whiskey.
