Ioan Mang

Ioan Mang (born July 15, 1958 in Ineu , Arad County ) is a Romanian politician , member of the Romanian Social Democratic Party (PSD) and was education minister in the first cabinet of Victor Ponta for eight days . He is a professor at Oradea University .

biography

Mang studied from 1973 to 1983 at the University of Timisoara , where he received his doctorate in engineering in 1998. He headed a department from 1993 to 2000 and has been the rector of Oradea University since March 2001. He has been a member of the PSD since 2001. Mang is married and has two children.

Plagiarism affair

On May 10, 2012, allegations of plagiarism arose in relation to several of Mang's scientific publications. In the wake of the plagiarism affair, Mang resigned as Minister of Education on May 15, 2012, after only one week in office.
