The University of Oradea (Romanian: Universitatea din Oradea ) is a state university in the Romanian city of Oradea ( German : Großwardein ) with a total of 19,000 students and around 1,000 academic employees.
history
Oradea University dates back to a school of philosophy in 1780 , and a law faculty was founded in 1788. At that time the college was also known as the University of Greater Oradea . From 1921 all lectures were given in Romanian. In 1923 a theological faculty was established. The Faculty of Literature at Crisana University was later incorporated. In 1934 the Faculty of Law was transferred to the Babeș-Bolyai University of Cluj . Between 1963 and 1983, various other disciplines were opened.
The modern university was only founded on October 1, 1963; In 1990 the official status of a "Technical University" was given.

Today's university offers 105 courses and 165 postgraduate programs in 18 faculties.
