Ioannis Damanakis ( Greek Γιάννης Δαμανάκης , born October 2, 1952 in Chania , Crete ) is a former Greek football player .
Player career
Damanakis' first professional club was PAOK Thessaloniki , with which he was under contract from 1977 to 1983. He was signed a year after the first championship title in the club's history and could not achieve a title until the end of the contract. In 1983 the midfielder ended his career.
Internationally, he took part in the 1980 European Football Championship in Italy , but was never used as a squad player.
