Ion Agârbiceanu

Ion Agârbiceanu (born September 12, 1882 in Scholten , Austria-Hungary , † May 28, 1963 in Cluj-Napoca ) was a Romanian writer .

Life

Agârbiceanu worked as a rural pastor in Transylvania . In his novels and short stories he dealt with the milieu of the common people in this region and the contradiction between town and country. In the period after 1944, he also processed experiences from the First World War . His works are assigned to the Seedorism and Poporanism . He was awarded the Romanian National Prize.
