Ira Davis

Ira Davis ( Ira Sylvester Davis; born September 25, 1936 in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania ) is a former American triple jumper .

At the Olympic Games in Melbourne in 1956 he was eleventh and at the Pan American Games in Chicago in 1959 seventh.

In 1960 he came in fourth at the Olympic Games in Rome and in 1964 at the Olympic Games in Tokyo on ninth place.

From 1958 to 1960 he was US champion three times in a row. He set a national record six times, most recently on July 26, 1964 in Los Angeles with 16.43 m.
