The Irdyn ( Ukrainian Ірдинь ) is a left tributary of the Tjasmyn in Ukraine . It flows through the Cherkassy Oblast .

The river has its origin in the Irdyner swamp . In part it flows through the Horodyschtsche Rajon and in places forms the natural borderline of the oblast. Then it flows through the city of Smila . The village of Irdiniwka is also located in the floodplains of the river on the upper reaches.

The first documentary mention is dated in the year 1552. Etymologically, the name of the river is derived from the reddish color of its water. Due to the complex settlement history of the area, other interpretations of the name cannot be ruled out.
