Irek Chaidarowitsch Sinnurow ( Russian Ирек Хайдарович Зиннуров ; born January 11, 1969 in Yakutsk ) is a former Russian water polo player of Tatar descent, who won an Olympic silver and bronze medal.

The 1.87 m tall Irek Sinnurow was active in the club for Spartak Volgograd and from 2004 until his retirement in 2010 for Sintez Kazan . With Kazan he won the LEN Trophy in 2007 , the European Cup for clubs that do not play in the main round of the LEN Champions League . Kazan also won the Russian championship in the 2006/07 season.

Irek Sinnurow took part in the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney with the Russian national water polo team. In the semifinals, the Russians beat Spain's team 8: 7, with Sinnurov scoring one goal. The Hungarians won the final 13: 6.

In 2001, Sinnurow took fifth place with the Russian national team at the European Championships in Budapest . At the World Championships in Fukuoka, the Russian team lost 8: 9 to Yugoslavia (Serbia and Montenegro) in the semifinals. The Russians won the game for third place 7: 6 against Italy. Sinnurow scored a total of 12 goals during the tournament and was thus on a tied tenth place for the tournament. Together with Dmitri Gorshkov he was the most successful goalscorer of the Russian team. In 2002 the Russian team won the Water Polo World Cup in Belgrade. In 2003 the Russian team finished fourth at the European Championships.

At the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, the Russians reached the semi-finals as they did in 2000 and lost 5-7 against Hungary. In the game for third place, the Russians won 6: 5 over the host Greece's team.
