Irene Krauss

Irene Krauss (born 1962 ) is a German folklorist, former museum director and publicist.

Life and career

She grew up in Bonn, London and Bern and studied history, art history and folklore at the Universities of Bonn and Munich. From 1988 to 1995 she was a research assistant and most recently head of the Museum of Bread Culture in Ulm. Since 1995 she has been working as a freelance journalist and book author and has written numerous works on the origins and development of baked goods and food folklore. Kraus lives with her husband and three children in Bad Säckingen .
