Irfan bin Fandi Ahmad (born August 13, 1997 in Singapore ) is a Singaporean- South African football player .
Career
society
Irfan began his career at the National Football Academy in Singapore. In 2013 Irfan was named one of the 20 best Southeast Asian rising stars by Goal.com. In 2014 he was named one of The Guardian's 40 best young talents in world football. In March 2013 Irfan and younger brother Ikhsan Fandi had the opportunity to complete their first foreign assignment with Hércules Alicante , a professional club in the Spanish second division. Ultimately, however, the couple were unable to sign any contracts with the club due to visa issues. Irfan and Ikhsan left the club after contracts could not be signed. In 2014 Irfan and Ikhsan signed a contract with the Chilean team AC Barnechea , a club that played in the Primera División . They then joined the Chilean Primera División club CD Universidad Católica . Her stay in Chile was sponsored by CIMB Bank. This was the banking institute's first attempt to promote sporting talent in football. In June 2016 he moved to Singapore for 6 months and joined the Young Lions . He scored two goals in nine games in the S. League . Together with his brother, he went to Home United, which also played in the S. League, in early 2016 . After 20 games and five goals, he returned to his former club Young Lions FC in 2018. In 2019 he moved to Thailand and signed a contract with second division club BG Pathum United FC . The 2019 season he was with BG Master of the Thai League 2 and thus rose to the Thai League .
National team
In 2015, Irfan bin Fandi Ahmad played six times in the Singapore U22 national team . From 2014 to 2016 he wore the jersey of the U23 national team 32 times . He has been playing for the Singapore national team since 2016 .
