biography

Iris Johansson spent her childhood on a farm in the middle of an extended family, which was joined by an even larger collective with social commitment. Her father in particular tried to ensure that she was not excluded from the community despite her autistic behavior. This enabled her to find her way and lead a completely independent life. The father did not even know that she was autistic, but he worked tirelessly to ensure that she came and stayed in contact with other people. She learned to read and write at the age of 14 and after finishing school she worked in a hairdressing salon, later as a pediatric nurse and as an educator in a youth center . She then studied religious philosophy , pedagogy and psychology and directed facilities for difficult-to-educate young people. Her biography En annorlunda barndom is a bestseller in Sweden and was published in German in 2012 ( Eine Another Childhood ).
