The Irish National League ( Irish Léig Náisiúnta na hÉireann ) was an Irish national political organization founded on October 17, 1882, which served to win broad public support for the Home Rule Party and later the Irish Parliamentary Party . It was founded as the successor organization to the Irish Land League after it was forcibly dissolved. Other goals included land reform that would give farmers ownership of the land they used, better working conditions, promoting economic development, and improving voting rights. The organization had regional branches, which u. a. also served to select candidates for the House of Commons elections . After a rather hesitant development at the beginning, there were more than 1,200 branches after the electoral reform of 1884/1885. Until the split in the Irish Parliamentary Party in 1890, the organization was the main instrument of the movement initiated by Charles Parnell . The organization remained under Parnell's control, so through the initiative of William Martin Murphy, his opponents formed the Irish National Committee . She went to the United Irish League in 1900 when reunification succeeded.
