Irmgard Lindemann

Irmgard Lindemann (born 1939 in Tilsit / East Prussia ) is a German bookseller , teacher , author and translator .

Her father died before she was born, just before World War II began. In the last year of the war, she and her mother fled to her grandparents in Dresden . She lost her grandparents in the air raids on Dresden and moved with her mother to Hamburg , where she attended the Walddörferschule and became a bookseller. In the 1960s she took part in a development project for the Protestant parish in Sicily. In the early 1970s she moved with her family to Bergamo , where she lives as a teacher, translator and writer.
