The Irvine Meadows Amphitheater (originally Verizon Wireless Amphitheater ) is an amphitheater in Laguna Hills , Irvine, California , United States . The venue was built by real estate firm Irvine Company from 1980 to 1981. With a seating capacity of 16,085, it is the largest amphitheater of its kind in Orange County, California . It is run by Live Nation Entertainment and is slated to close in 2017.
