Irwin Levine
Irwin Jesse Levine (born March 23, 1938 in Newark , New Jersey , † January 21, 1997 in Livingston , New Jersey) was an American composer .
Together with L. Russell Brown he wrote Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round the Ole Oak Tree in 1972 . This song, performed by Dawn with Tony Orlando , became the best-selling pop song of 1973 in the United States.
