Isaac Florentine

Isaac Florentine is an American film director of Israeli origin.

As early as the 1970s he was engaged in various martial arts . He was a martial arts trainer in the Israeli army, has a Dan and studied karate in Stockholm , among other things . Florentines career as a director began with the short film Farewell Terminator , with whom he won the Mugrabi Film Festival and a nomination for the Oscar in the category Best Foreign Language Film narrowly missed. He went to the United States, where he worked mostly for the film production company Nu Image , which mainly produces B-movies and martial arts films . Films like Cold Harvest (1998), Fight of the Dragon (1999), US Seals 2 (2001) and Undisputed 2 (2005) as well as collaborations with well-known actors such as Scott Adkins and Jean-Claude Van Damme established his reputation as a director for complex action scenes and unconventional camera perspectives. The frequent use of comic-style onomatopoeia and borrowings from Asian films and the Spaghetti Western is also noticeable .

Florentine is married and has four children.
