Isenbügel is one of the five districts of the North Rhine-Westphalian city of Heiligenhaus . Isenbügel is in the north-west of the city and borders on Essen and Velbert .

history

The place name Isenbügel goes back to the "Hof Isenbügel", which was first mentioned in 1250 as Isenbugele .

Until the 19th century, the Isenbügel Honschaft was one of the lowest administrative units in the rural outskirts of the Bergisch mayor's office of Velbert .

In the 1950s, the water shortage settlement was built in the south of the district.

Infrastructure and traffic

The place has the Protestant elementary school " Adolf Clarenbach -Schule", a kindergarten and day care.

The 772 bus, which serves the only stop in the district, In der Rose , has an hourly connection to the center of Heiligenhaus and Essen- Kettwig and the “ Kettwig-Stausee ” S-Bahn station there .
