Isengard (Munzenberg)

Isengard von Münzenberg (* around 1205, † around 1261 or after 1270) was a noblewoman of the Hagen-Münzenberg family .

Isengard von Munzenberg was the daughter of Ulrich I. von Munzenberg , Herr von Munzenberg and his wife Adelheid von Ziegenhain .

Before 1237 she married Philip I of Falkenstein . The following children were born from this marriage:

  • Guda von Falkenstein (* unknown, but apparently before 1237 and before the birth of Werner I. von Falkenstein ; † February 4, 1290)
  • Adelheid von Falkenstein (* unknown, but apparently before 1237 and before the birth of Werner I. von Falkenstein ; † after 1237)
  • Werner I. von Falkenstein , Herr zu Münzenberg & Falkenstein (* unknown, probably after 1237; † between May 25, 1298 and September 22, 1300)
  • Philip II of Falkenstein , Lord of Munzenberg (* unknown; † between June 29, 1293 and December 13, 1293)
  • Luckard von Falkenstein (* unknown, † after February 1, 1302)

Life

The marriage of her brother Ulrich II von Munzenberg to Hedwig von Weinsberg remained childless. As part of the Munzenberg inheritance , after his death in 1255, his six sisters, including Isengard and her husband Philipp I von Falkenstein , inherited a sixth of the estate, including areas in the Wetterau and Taunus, including Königstein . Lukarde von Munzenberg , the seventh sister, was resigned to the Patershausen monastery , which was rebuilt for her as a Cistercian and where she became abbess . Through acquisitions and Swap Isengard husband brought Philip I of Falkenstein and her son Werner I von Falkenstein and 1286 even total 5/6 of Münzenberger inheritance to the House Falkenstein .
