Isidora Sekulić

Isidora Sekulić ( Serbian - Cyrillic Исидора Секулић , born February 16, 1877 in Mošorin; died April 5, 1958 in Belgrade ) was a Serbian writer .

Life

Sekulić was born in Mošorin in Vojvodina in 1877 and spent her childhood in Ruma and Zemun . She studied mathematics and science in Budapest . She traveled extensively in Europe (England, Norway, France) and spoke several European literary languages. In 1950 she was elected to the Serbian Academy of Sciences. Isidora Sekulić died in Belgrade in 1958.

Isidora Sekulić Prize

The literary prize of the same name is named after Isidora Sekulić and has been awarded by the Belgrade district municipality of Savski Venac since 1968 .
