Isidore Soucy (born September 7, 1899 in Sainte-Blandine , † December 7, 1963 in Montreal ) was a Canadian fiddle player and composer.

Soucy came to Montreal in 1924, where his first recordings on the Starr label were made in 1926. He began his radio career with the broadcaster CKAC and appeared in Conrad Gauthier's Veillées du bon vieux temps at the Monument national . He worked as a duo with accordionist Donat Lafleur and directed the Trio Soucy (with his son Fernando Soucy and accordionist René Alain ) and La Famille Soucy ; In addition to his wife Laura, the latter included his children Fernando, Thérèse, Eugène and Marie-Ange. The Famille Soucy's great successes were the recordings Des fraises et des framboises (1949) and Prendre un verre de bière, mon minou (1950), the latter of which sold more than a hundred thousand times.

La Famille Soucy performed in Montreal nightclubs, was a regular on CKVL Verdun in 1956, and made his debut on NBC television while touring the United States . Her variety show Chez Isidore , which ran from 1960 to 1962 on CFTM TV Montreal , was the most popular show of its kind in Montreal. In total, Isidore Soucy made more than 1200 recordings. His son Fernando recorded two LPs with compositions by his father.
