Isidro Nozal
Isidro Nozal Vega (born October 18, 1977 in Barakaldo ) is a Spanish cyclist .
Life
Isidro Nozal his professional career began in 1999 when the Spanish cycling team O.NCE of Manolo Saiz . In 2002 he won a stage at the Clásica Alcobendas and then took part in the Tour de France for the first time . A year later he won two stage victories at the Vuelta a España in 2003 . He led the overall standings for a long time, up to the penultimate day. Roberto Heras overtook him there after a mountain time trial and Nozal had to be content with second place. Nozal has been with the same team since 2004, but the sponsor is now Liberty Seguros . Before the start of the Dauphiné Libéré in 2005, a hematocrit value of over 50 was measured and he had to pause for two weeks. In 2006 he was involved in the Fuentes doping scandal. In September 2009 he was banned by the UCI for two years because of EPO doping.
