The Juncal Island is a river island in South America.

The island in the Río Uruguay belongs to the territory of Uruguay on the border with Argentina . It is located northwest of the city of Carmelo , not far from the mouth of the Río Uruguay in the Río de la Plata and opposite the city of Colonia Esterella on the left bank , the airport Aeropuerto de Carmelo to the south and the mouth of the Arroyo de las Víboras . The right bank of the Río Uruguay opposite the west side of the island is broken there by several arms of the estuary delta of the Río Paraná , so that an island has also formed there, the Isla del Portugués , which is part of the Argentine national territory . One kilometer north of Isla Juncal is another, much smaller river island, Isla Juncalito .
