The Islote Alegría ( Spanish for "Island of Joy") is a cliff in the Palmer Archipelago off the west coast of the Antarctic Peninsula . In the group of the Melchior Islands it lies in front of the Eta Island .
The crew of the ship Primero de Mayo carried out measurements on an Argentine research voyage carried out between 1942 and 1943. Argentine scientists ironically named him in 1947 in view of his appearance.
