history

Continentale Isola Werke AG was founded in Düren in 1912. After Rütgerswerke AG acquired a stake in Isola in 1954, basic material production with copper-clad hard paper laminates began in 1956. In 1963, production was expanded to include copper-clad epoxy hard fabric laminate production. From 1984 several subsidiaries were founded, the first being Isola France. Production of the high-performance base material began in 1992. The Texas Pacific Group and Redfern Partners from the USA took over Isola AG in 2004.
