Istana Kampong Glam

The Istana Kampong Glam (in German: Palace Kampong Glam , Chinese : 甘榜 格南 皇宫), also Istana Kampong Gelam , is a palace once built for the Sultan of Johor . It is located near the Masjid Sultan in the Kampong Glam district of Singapore . The building was built in 1819 at the behest of the Sultan by Johor Hussein Shah . Since November 27, 2004 there is a cultural institution, the Malay Heritage Center .
