Istitut Ladin "Micurà de Rü"

The Istitut Ladin Micurá de Rü ( German  Ladin Cultural Institute "Micurá de Rü" ) was founded in 1976. It is a scientific institution that serves to preserve and promote the Ladin language and culture by issuing publications (e.g. the scientific periodical Ladinia - Sföi culturâl dai ladins dles Dolomites ), developing lexicographical works (from German as well as from Italian into Ladin and vice versa), carries out name-based surveys, does public relations work and supports cultural bodies, associations or institutions with similar objectives. It has twelve employees. Its headquarters are in St. Martin in Thurn , with a branch in Selva di Val Gardena .

The institute was named after the Ladin linguist Micurà de Rü (Nikolaus Bacher) . The first director was Lois Craffonara , since 1993 it has been headed by Leander Moroder.
