Lois Craffonara

Lois Craffonara (born March 27, 1940 in Enneberg ) is a Ladin philologist and historian from South Tyrol .

Craffonara studied theology in Brixen , London and Innsbruck from 1960 to 1964 , and philology from 1964 to 1968 at the University of Padua . He then worked as a teacher for a while. In 1972 he completed his studies in Padua with the thesis Le parlate di San Vigilio di Marebbe, di San Martino e La Villa in Val Badia .

From 1977 to 1992 Craffonara was director of the Istitut Ladin “Micurà de Rü” . He founded the teachers' magazine Lingaz y cultura and the Ladin periodical Ladinia - Sföi culturâl dai ladins dles Dolomites , which he was editor of for 25 years. Since 1998 the multiple award-winning Craffonara, among other things the holder of the Decoration of Honor of the State of Tyrol , has been working as a scientific advisor to the Museum Ladin at Thurn Castle .
