Istituto Giannina Gaslini

The Istituto Giannina Gaslini , also simply Ospedale Gaslini , is a pediatric clinic and research facility in the Italian port city of Genoa . The facilities are located in the Quarto district not far from the sea. The state hospital is financed by a foundation of the founder Gerolamo Gaslini (1877–1964). Together with the Ospedale San Martino and the Ente Ospedaliero Ospedali Galliera, it is one of the city's three important hospital complexes .

After six years of construction, the hospital opened on May 15, 1938. It now consists of over 30 departments, many of which conduct research in the field of pediatrics. As a treatment and research focus, the Gaslini Hospital is of great importance in paediatrics throughout the Mediterranean region and at European level.
