it-sa
The it-sa is a Trade Fair with Congress (Congress @ it-sa) on the subject of information security . From 1999 to 2008, the fair was integrated into the former system as a security hall . Hence the name of the fair is derived: IT-S ecurity A rea at SYSTEMS. It-sa has been held annually as an independent trade fair in the Nuremberg Exhibition Center since 2009 . NürnbergMesse has owned it-sa since 2011.
It-sa has had an offshoot in São Paulo, it-sa Brasil, since 2014, and it-sa India in Mumbai since 2018. At the center of the events is a congress with participants from various security-critical industries.
Topics and target group
It-sa's target group is everyone who deals with the subject of IT security. These include project managers, developers, practitioners and managers.
The exhibitors at it-sa cover all areas of IT security. Intelligent and self-learning software, incident response, defense against DDos attacks and IT security for critical infrastructures were among the most discussed topics in 2016.
Supporting program
It-sa has been accompanied by the Congress @ it-sa congress program since 2012. It is mainly aimed at CIOs , IT security officers and experts. Numerous workshops , tutorials , conferences and general meetings will also take place during it-sa .
In 2016, the Austrian lawyer and data protection activist Maximilian Schrems gave a special keynote on EU data protection with the title: “More data protection through secure IT infrastructures?”. He gave an outlook on the new regulation that will come into force in May 2018 and that will replace national data protection laws.
In three open forums, IT security experts provided information on challenges and trends right in the middle of the trade fair. A total of 230 expert contributions gave the audience an overview of current challenges such as ransomware , standards and certification or IT security for critical infrastructures in short presentations and discussions . With a total of 15 lecture series and 1,150 participants, Congress @ it-sa set a new record in 2016. The EICAR Conference, which partly took place parallel to it-sa , was international, and this year put the trustworthiness of IT security solutions at the center of the expert discussion.
In 2015, Edward Snowden's keynote speech was one of the highlights with over 700 listeners. The former secret service employee explained the current IT threat situation and the role of the IT security industry under the title "Protection against the Dark Arts: What problems cybersecurity has and how to solve them".
The trade fair sets current priorities with special areas. The special area IAM Arena presents solutions for secure IT infrastructures as well as for identity and access rights management. Startups @ it-sa is aimed at young companies and presented them with offers.
Visitor and exhibitor numbers
In 2016 it-sa recorded a record number of exhibitors and visitors with 489 exhibitors and over 10,100 visitors. In 2015 over 9,000 visitors came to the trade fair in Nuremberg. They found out about the latest trends in the industry from 428 exhibitors. The figures have been FKM- checked since 2011 and therefore relate exclusively to trade visitors with a paid ticket or to registered users of a guest card.
