Iván Mauricio Casas Buitrago (born June 12, 1980 in Tunja ) is a Colombian cyclist .
Career
Ivan Casas won a stage at the Clásica Ciudad de Girardot and the Doble Copacabana Grand Prix Fides in 2005 , where he also came second overall. In the 2006 season he again won part of the Doble Copacabana Grand Prix Fides and he was national runner-up in road racing. Casas has been driving for the Colombian Continental Team Boyaca Es Para Vivirla-Marche since 2007 . In his first season there, he won a stage at the Giro della Regione Friuli Venezia Giulia in Italy. He was also twice successful at the Vuelta a Boyacà and won the overall standings.
In 2008 Iván Casas, son of the president of the Colombian cycling association Plinio Casas, tested positive for nandrolone during a doping control , but was acquitted by the Colombian association. In 2012 he refused the doping control at the Vuelta a Antioquia, again without sanctions from the Colombian Association. WADA appealed against both decisions to the International Sports Court , which banned Casas for two years in 2013 and canceled all results from May 2012.
