Aurelia of Regensburg
Aurelia von Regensburg († October 15, 1027 ) was a recluse at the Benedictine monastery of St. Emmeram near Regensburg for more than 50 years . She is venerated as a saint in the Roman Catholic Church . According to legend, she was the daughter of the French king Hugo Capet .
Aurelia is said to have evaded Christians' persecution by pagans and fled from Fußach to Lindau "to the castle". The Aurelia Chapel was later built at this point .
Her bones are said to be in a high grave built in 1330 in the monastery church of St. Emmeram. A Roman tombstone with her name had previously been discovered there.
