Ivan Graanoogst was the interim president of Suriname for six days in 1990 .

Graanoogst, head of the country's military police , was from December 24, 1990 - the day of the so-called telephone coup - until December 29, 1990, i.e. 6 days, as the successor to Ramsewak Shankar, President and Commander-in-Chief of Suriname's armed forces . His successor in the office of President was Johan Kraag .

As chairman of the inauguration commission of President Dési Bouterse , Graanoogst entered the political stage again in August 2010.
