Ivan Savin
Ivan Savin is a former Romanian wrestler . He entered exclusively in the Greco-Roman style .
Career
Savin started wrestling at the school sports club CSȘ Rădăui . At the European Junior Championships in 1976 he competed in the weight class up to 100 kg and took sixth place. His greatest international successes came in 1977 in the same weight class with a fifth place each at the European Championships in Bursa and at the World Championships in Gothenburg . At the European Wrestling Championships in 1977 in Oslo and the World Wrestling Championships in 1978 in Mexico City , he could not place in the top six. After he was no longer able to prevail against his compatriot Vasile Andrei , he switched to the +100 kg weight class, in which he achieved sixth place at the European wrestling championships in 1982 in Varna .
