Ivan Wurglics

Ivan Wurglics (born August 9, 1924 in Markt Sankt Martin ; † April 13, 2002 ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and state official. Wurglics was a member of the Burgenland Landtag from 1975 to 1985 .

Ivan Wurglics was born as the son of Ferdinand Wurglics, the station director. His father was initially employed in Markt St. Marin and later in Oberwart and Güssing . After elementary school in Oberwart and Güssing, he attended the first grade of the secondary school in Güssing and then switched to the Protestant regal gynecology in Oberschützen . Wurglics finished his school education in 1943 with a leaving certificate with a maturity clause and then served in the Wehrmacht between 1943 and 1945 . After the end of the war, he initially worked as an English teacher from 1946 to 1947, and from October 27, 1974 he was an official of the Burgenland provincial government at the district authority of Güssing. He was appointed official secretary in 1962, a councilor in 1966 and a senior councilor in 1972. Wurglics retired in 1985.

Wurglics joined the SPÖ in November 1945 and was involved in the socialist youth . He was elected to Güssing's municipal council in 1950, to which he was a member until 1985. He was also deputy mayor and city councilor from 1964. Within the party, he was also a member of the SPÖ district committee from 1951 and from 1972 chairman of the SPÖ city organization Güssing. Furthermore, between 1966 and 1985 he was a member of the board of the Oberwart Construction and Settlement Cooperative and was a founding member of the Güssing cultural association. Wurglics represented the SPÖ between November 6, 1975 and October 1, 1985 in the state parliament.
