Ivan Zaytsev (born October 2, 1988 in Spoleto ) is an Italian volleyball player .

Career

Ivan Zaytsev is the son of the Russian national player Vyacheslav Alexejewitsch Saizew , who competed with the Soviet team three times at the Olympic Games and won gold in Moscow in 1980 . He was born in Spoleto when his father was under contract there. He began his own career in 2001 in the offspring of RPA Perugia . 2004 came Zaytsev, who was initially on the field as a setter, in the first division team of the club. In 2006 he moved to the league competitor M. Roma Volley . After a season with Andreoli Latina , he returned to Rome in 2008 and now played in the position of outside attacker. In the same year he received Italian citizenship and was appointed to the national team for the first time . Zaytsev was also active in beach volleyball during this time. With the Romans, who had meanwhile relegated to the second division, he managed to return to the first division in 2010. In 2010 he played with Italy at the World Cup . The following year he reached the final of the European Championship . In 2012, Zaytsev won the bronze medal with the national team at the Olympic Games in London . After the tournament he moved to Lube Macerata within the league .
