Ivana Brkljačić (born January 25, 1983 in Villingen-Schwenningen ) is a Croatian hammer thrower .

biography

Ivana Brkljačić, who was born in southern Germany, moved shortly after her birth with her parents to their home town of Trnovac near Gospić , where she spent her childhood up to the age of 10. After moving to Zagreb , she began to play sports regularly, initially as a basketball player and runner. She has been training hammer throwing since 1993. In the same year she was able to achieve her first international success with a third place at the U18 World Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland. Since 2007 her personal best is 75.08 m. She trains at the Zagreb sports club AK Dinamo-Zrinjevac, she is the club's most successful athlete.
