Ivailo Filew

Iwailo Filew ( Bulgarian Ивайло Филев ; born May 1, 1987 ) is a Bulgarian weightlifter .

Career

He was several times youth and junior European champion. In 2007 he reached fifth place in the class up to 62 kg at the European Championships . At the world championships in the same year he won the bronze medal. In June 2008, however, he was tested positive for metandienone during a doping control and then banned for four years. After his suspension, he reached sixth place in the class up to 69 kg at the 2013 European Championships . At the world championships in the same year he was fifth in the class up to 62 kg. In 2014 he won the gold medal at the European Championships . In March 2015, however, shortly before the European Championships, he again gave a positive doping test, this time he, like ten other members of the Bulgarian national team, was tested for stanozolol and banned for 18 months.
