Ivan Andreevich Gachov ( Russian Ива́н Андре́евич Га́хов ; English transcription Ivan Andreevich Gakhov ; born November 4, 1996 in Moscow ) is a Russian tennis player .

Career

Gachow started tennis when he was five. In 2012 he played for the first time regularly in tournaments with the professionals and this year won his first title in doubles on the ITF Future Tour , which was also the first time he was listed in the world . Up until 2014 he increased steadily and, in addition to four titles in doubles, had also won his first future title in singles. This is how he made it into the top 700 in the world. Gachow made his first experiences on the next higher ATP Challenger Tour in 2015. In Qarshi he fought his way through the qualification and also won his first match in the main field. However, he still had to wait for a breakthrough in the ranking, as he did not win a future title this year. After an eight-month break, Gachow did not join the tournament until July 2016 and still managed to win three futures singles by the end of the year in order to at least maintain his position from the previous year.

2017 was his strongest year so far. He won three futures in singles and six in doubles. At the Challenger in Almaty , Gachow reached his first semi-final at this level and with rank 275 a new high position in the individual ranking. It went even better in doubles - in Almaty as in Seville he only lost with different partners in the final. He finished each year in the top 300.

While the Russian could not match the results of the previous year in singles in 2018, he continued to improve in doubles. There he reached two finals, of which he won the one in Fargʻona with Alexander Pavlyuchenkow and won his first Challenger title. As a result, he stood at 181st place on September 10, 2018, a new double career high. In his career he has won a total of 8 futures in singles and 19 futures in doubles.
