Ivan Bychvarov
Iwan Iwanow Bychwarow ( Bulgarian Иван Иванов Бъчваров ; born November 28, 1912 in Sevlievo , † November 24, 1966 in Pressburg ) was a Bulgarian officer, politician and diplomat .
Life
Bychvarov was a functionary of the Bulgarian Workers' Youth Association and joined the Bulgarian Communist Party in 1933 . In 1943 he became Political Commissar of the 8th Insurgent Operational Zone . From 1950 to 1960 he held the post of Chief of the General Staff of the Bulgarian People's Army . He was a member of the Central Committee of the Bulgarian Communist Party from 1954 to 1966 .
In 1965 and 1966 he was the Bulgarian ambassador to the GDR .
Bychvarov wrote articles on military and military-political issues. He was the bearer of the Georgi Dimitrov order .
