Ivan Shekov

Ivan Shekov ( Bulgarian Иван Жеков ; born March 21, 1942 in Sofia , Bulgaria ) is a Bulgarian-German composer .

Life

Ivan Shekov studied at the Sofia Music Academy . He made his first compositions, mostly for piano , as a schoolboy. He has worked internationally as a concert pianist, so he gave chamber music concerts with the cellist Pierre Fournier , with the violinists Mark Kaplan , Ricardo Odnoposoff , Daniel Podlovski , Dina Schneidermann , Emil Kamilarov , Mintcho Mintchev , with the tenor Luigi Alva , with the flutist Lydia Oshavkova and other.

Ivan Shekov wrote songs for the children's choir and chamber orchestra on behalf of Bulgarian TV in 1979. In 1980 Shekov came to Germany and settled in Tettnang .

From 1983 to 2006 he taught piano at the municipal music school in Tettnang.

In addition to orchestral and vocal works, Shekov mainly composes concertante chamber music for all instruments and compositions for young musicians.
