Izaro Automóviles SL is a Spanish company based in Alcañiz that presented an automobile study in 2010. This project made explicit reference to Automóviles Izaro , which belonged to the grandfather of the new owner of the company. Reference is also made to the island of Izaro .

history

The company and brand initially operated under the name of Izaro Motors . The only study, the development of which is said to have started in 2006, was carried out in collaboration with Factory Five and American Specialty Cars .

The Izaro GT-E should compete with the Tesla Roadster . For the body, the company specified the materials aluminum, magnesium and carbon fiber reinforced plastic, which should enable an empty weight of exactly 1000 kilograms.

The possible price was given as € 60,000.

Two model versions were planned: a pure electric version with 365 kW and a range of 250 kilometers and a hybrid version with 305 kW and a range of 690 kilometers. The sports car should complete the sprint to 100 km / h in 4 seconds.

The project was first presented in August 2010. The first vehicle should be presented in September.

In late autumn the company was present at several events. In early 2011 the company was renamed from Izaro Motors to Izaro Automóviles .

No further information on this project has been published since February 2011.
