Izïa Higelin
Izïa Higelin (born September 24, 1990 in Paris ) is a French actress and rock singer . As a singer she performs under the name Izia .
Life
Higelin was born in Paris as the daughter of the Tunisian dancer and singer Aziza and the French singer and actor Jacques Higelin . She is the half-sister of the singer Arthur H (* 1966) and the actor Kên Higelin (* 1972). Through her father, Higelin found music at an early age. She wrote her first song at the age of 13, during which time she became interested in bands like Led Zeppelin and Nirvana , and left school in 2006 at the age of 15 to devote herself fully to music. Her manager Daniel Colling arranged for her to appear at the Printemps de Bourges music festival this year , which attracted her first attention. This was followed by appearances with Iggy Pop (2007, 2009) and with her half-brother Arthur H at a concert by her father in Bataclan , which was also released on DVD in 2007 under the title Higelin en plein Bataclan .
In 2009, Higelin's debut album Izia was released , which was able to place in the French charts. A tour followed, which ended in 2010. Her second album So Much Trouble was released in November 2011 and, like the single of the same name, was able to place in the French charts. Her third album, La vague , came out in April 2015 and reached number 13 on the French album charts.
In early 2011, Higelin took on a leading role in Patrick Mille's debut film Mauvaise fille , which was released in 2012 , for which she was awarded a César for Best Young Actress in 2013 . In 2014, Higelin played a supporting role alongside Omar Sy in Olivier Nakache and Éric Toledano's comedy Today I'm Samba . In 2015 she received a César nomination in the category Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal .
