Jánošíková

Jánošíková (Slovak and German signs until 1948 , Hungarian Dénesd ) is a place in Slovakia . The formerly independent municipality was merged with the neighboring towns to form Dunajská Lužná in 1974 and is located on the Great Schüttinsel in the Danube lowlands , about 14 km southeast of Bratislava .
history
The village was first mentioned in writing in 1206, it belonged to the Pannonhalma Abbey . In the document of Béla IV. From 1240 it was mentioned as Dionisios , later in this century as Dyenis and Dienesz . Its former chapel was built in 1302. In the Middle Ages , the former village of Veczke, mentioned in a document in 1356, was located nearby .
In 1910 Schildern had 504 predominantly German residents, the community belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary in Pressburg County until 1918 . After the end of the First World War it came to Czechoslovakia as a result of the Treaty of Trianon , and from 1938 to 1945 it was again part of Hungary due to the First Vienna Arbitration . After the end of the Second World War it was rejoined to Czechoslovakia and has been part of Slovakia since 1993 . In 1974 there was a merger with neighboring communities to form the community of Dunajská Lužná.
Until the expulsion in 1945, the population in the village was mainly German-speaking, after which Slovaks from the Terchová area came as settlers. Since Terchová is the birthplace of the robber captain and Slovak national hero Juraj Jánošík , the place was renamed after him in 1948 for reasons of national politics.
