The Ráby hunting lodge , also known as the Ráby hunting lodge, is a former hunting lodge in the Ráby municipality in the Czech Republic. Since the 1990s, there has been frequent confusion with the Ráby hunting lodge built at the end of the 19th century on the slope of Kunětická hora , which is now marketed as Perníková chaloupka ( gingerbread house ).

location

The hunter's house is located in the southern part of the village of Ráby.

description

The original two-storey Renaissance building with a rectangular floor plan was surrounded by a large garden. It had a terracotta portal and window reveals, since the upper floor was probably timbered. The hunter's house was redesigned in the Baroque and Classicist styles over time. Renovations carried out at the end of the 20th century led to architectural devastation. During its reconstruction, the state from the end of the 19th century was restored, with classicist elements from 1873 being preserved. The preserved fragments of a terracotta reveal typical of the mid-16th century, which probably dates from the time of the reconstruction after the fire of 1538, are significant. The hunter's house is the oldest building in the village of Ráby and is a protected cultural monument.

history

At the beginning of the 16th century, the Podhůrský dvůr farm with an extensive deer garden , which belonged to the Pardubice and Kunburg rulership, was located in the place of the hunter's house . In 1538 the Podhůrský dvůr was destroyed by fire. In its place, Johann von Pernstein had a small hunting lodge built around 1540, which was called Podhůrský. After the lordship had become royal property, the Pardubice chamberlain had the hunting lodge redesigned in baroque style as a residence for the royal forester. The upper floor was also bricked up. During this time the name Podhůrský hunter's house was created . The deer garden was closed in 1778 and the village of Ráby was laid out north of the hunter's house.

After the February coup in 1948, the Jagdschlösschen became the property of the JZD . Between 1962 and 1985, the company carried out various improper conversions that completely changed the character of the building and distorted it architecturally. In 1987 the demolition permit was finally granted. The changed ownership structure due to the Velvet Revolution prevented the demolition, but the building was left to decay. In 2012 the hunting lodge was reconstructed.
