József Darányi

József Darányi (born September 28, 1905 in Devecser , † December 23, 1990 in Veresegyház ) was a Hungarian shot putter .

In 1928 he finished eighth at the Olympic Games in Amsterdam , and in 1930 he won the International University Games in Darmstadt.

At the 1932 Olympic Games in Los Angeles he was eighth again, and sixth at the 1934 European Athletics Championships in Turin and twelfth at the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin.

He was Hungarian champion twelve times (1926–1935, 1938, 1939) and twice English champion (1929, 1931). He set his personal best of 15.77 m on September 28, 1935 in Budapest .
